A Love for Food
Matt was a true foodie. He LOVED everything about food. Growing up, Matt watched food shows on television for hundreds of hours. You could see his taste buds salivate as he watched. Matt did not pursue culinary arts professionally, but he was a great chef. He loved to experiment with recipes, and various ways to prepare food. It was all about flavor and presentation. Matt always focused on seasonings when he cooked, or when he ate out. Matt’s favorite food to prepare was a fantastic steak, medium rare, after it was properly tented and rested off the grill.
To honor and celebrate Matt, his Foundation provides scholarships to students in the culinary arts program at Saint Paul College. Matt believed education is vital, and he would be very proud and excited to know that his legacy is helping people achieve their dreams in the world of culinary arts.
A Love for Mose
Matt also LOVED dogs. While he loved any dog, his deepest love was for Golden Retrievers, and Matt and his fiancée Julia were proud parents of Mose. To honor Matt’s love for Goldens, his family has partnered with Helping Paws, a nonprofit that enhances people’s independence and quality of life through the use of Assistance Dogs, that just happen to be Golden Retrievers. Matt would love the fact that his Foundation is helping people to enhance their lives thanks to Golden Dogs!
I love you all, I always did and I always will
Keep on living and loving, have fun and chill
